The historical charm of the building was captivating.
The lack of an elevator made carrying luggage up three flights of stairs exhausting.

The decor in the Sayre Mansion stood out instantly. Antique furnishings gave the place a unique charm. I loved the cozy common areas, especially the one with the fireplace, perfect for unwinding after walking around town. Breakfast amazed me with its variety. The made-to-order eggs were a highlight, and the French Toast Bake was outstanding. Staff members were friendly and attentive, making the experience feel personal. However, there were some challenges. My room had outdated furniture, which affected the overall comfort. Additionally, the air conditioning didn't cool the space adequately, and the traffic noise from outside disrupted my sleep. It would have been better if the windows were better insulated. It felt a bit like a budget hotel in some parts. Overall, the issues with the room comfort made it hard to enjoy the place fully, but the excellent dining and service made a good impression.

Had a lovely stay in a charming, cozy room that felt like home, and the breakfast spread was truly the best I've ever had. I loved hanging out in the elegant parlor by the fireplace and the lovely garden area where I could unwind. The only bummer was the freight train waking us up early, but the comfy beds made it easy to catch some extra Z's! 😊

atmospheric mansion with a few drawbacks
The historic inn has a wonderful atmosphere that truly transports you to another time. The breakfast was both delicious and beautifully served, making for a delightful start to the day.
Despite many empty rooms on a weekday, we were given the smallest, dingiest room in the back of the inn.
